blogging for all those super moms out there!
I now have my 3rd addiction. My first addiction is chocolate (which is why I bought my awesome treadmill). My second addiction is the computer. I’m not sure I could live without it. And now, my 3rd addiction is drum roll: Wii bowling. I just love beating my kids who swear they are going to kick my butt. I’m so freaking good that I’m about to be a Pro. Go mom, Go mom, Go mom. From my understanding I even get a fancy new ball. What I love about Wii bowling is unlike real bowling, my neck and back aren’t killing me. (well my arm does get a little sore)
Ok…so my youngest son says the cutest things so I decided I will start a Too Funny section.
Today we had lunch with 2 of our very dear friends at Chilis. On the way out, our friend Jay held his hand to the car.
So my son says, “Dad I know why Jay held my hand. Because he is a lawyer and wants to protect me.”
I promised furniture pictures. I know I’m late but I guess better late than never huh?!
So, here is the new breakfast area dining table (the one we eat at daily):

And here is the media furniture. We are still missing the wedge:

We are happy with The Dump so far!
So yesterday my husband and I made a trip to The Dump. And no, it wasn’t dirty at all. Actually The Dump is a furniture store and with that name we weren’t sure what to expect. Well the furniture certainly didn’t come from the dump. We currently have a set of dining chairs that do not match each other. So we have been pricing chairs and after visiting The Dump ended up purchasing a complete set. And to top it off, we also ended up purchasing a sectional for our media room. Of course, if anyone knows my husband and I, they know we look for the best product for the BEST price. So we got a great deal and of course took advantage of the no interest, no payments for 2 years.
You know what the best part of the whole furniture trip was? No kids!! LOL. My boys weren’t exactly thrilled to know we were going to go shopping for furniture. And we could just see them jumping from one couch to the other. It would have been a nightmare with how large their warehouse store is. But one our dearest friends came over and played video games with them (actually they ended up playing ALL DAY - yep friend and the boys)! So I had a good quiet, productive day
I’ll post pictures tomorrow when it gets delivered.
Geesh…what would I do without my fantastic husband?! So today I wake up with my usual morning kiss and a card. Once I open this beautiful sweet card, 2 homemade pictures fall out. At first I thought they were crosses but I am told they were lamps made by my son. So my husband then tells me that for a week he has been searching for bedside lamps (something I have mentioned that I wanted for quite some time.) He said he was at Target looking at all of the lamps and was amazed at how many choices he had and that you had to match the shades with a lamp. As he is looking through this array of choices, some nice lady tries to help him. After realizing he really had no clue what to buy, she politely asks “Have you every thought about a gift certificate?” I LOVE IT! He giggles and says, “Well that is probably a really good idea considering I usually have to ask her if my clothes match.”
Hence, today he is taking off 1/2 day to take me to lunch and to go find some lamps. Happy Birthday to me! How lucky I am!!
So on one of my favorite forums, V7n I stated that my mood was “Tired and Overwhelmed.” I’m sure most of you can relate around the holidays. I was trying to complete a pretty big project, get all of my holiday shopping done, and get ready for my oldest son’s Winter Party (as I’m room parent for his class). Well in response to my post, I received a great message from one of my online v7n friends. He stated when he becomes overwhelmed and tired, his wonderful wife makes him hot chocolate with a melted peppermint stick. And, he gave me a big hint to use the big fat sugar peppermint sticks…not the thin ones.
The next day my husband and I were on a little day trip with the kiddos. We made our regular stop at the Cracker Barrel in Tyler, Texas. The kids love to choose a candy (this is their reward for being good in the car). Guess what!! There on the counter was a big bag of those peppermint sticks!
Fast forward a few hours…I came home and immediately popped in my mug of water in the microwave. I added the cocoa and stirred in 1 big fat peppermint stick. YUMMMMMYYY! Thank you Chris!
I highly recommend this little treat for the tired and overwhelmed body and soul!
Welcome to my super mommy blog. Yes I feel like a super mommy sometimes and other times I feel like my super has just plain fizzled.
I have wanted to start a blog in forever. I always feel like I have something to talk about. Since I am a WAHM (work-at-home-mom) with my kids at school, I feel kind of silly when I keep talking to my sweet kitty in my lap. So why not talk and share with you.
Anyway, I hope I can inspire and assist other super mommies out there or at least make you smile!
